Vrindavan’s Jaipur temple will be developed as a tourist destination

Vrindavan, 2017.06.07 (VT): Recently it was announced that Vrindavan’s historic Jaipur Mandir will be developed as a tourist destination. The head of the Rajasthan Devasthan Department, Mr. Rajkumar Rinwan, made the announcement on his three-day visit to Vrindavan to celebrate Shri Radha-Madhav Ju’s 100th patotsav.

The updates to the temple will include landscaping throughout the temple complex, benches and fountains made of Rajasthani stone, and permanent lighting in all parts of the temple, along with drinking water and public toilets. A small shoping center will showcase the unique handicrafts of Rajasthan. Devotees coming to the temple will have the opportunity to learn abou the culture of Rajasthan along with receiving the Lord’s darshan.

The Government of Rajasthan has allocated 30 lakh rupees for the project. Sunil Makkad, the Commissioner of the Rajasthan Devasthan Department, says that the department will submit the proposal to the state government within a week. The plan is being prepared in collaboration with the Public Works Department.
