Vrindavan, 2017.06.06 (VT): The grazing land of Vrindavan’s cows will be freed from illegal occupation soon, U.P. State Minister for animal husbandry Shri S.P. Singh claims.

Shri Singh was on a visit to Shripad Baba Gaushala on Tuesday. Speaking to the media, Shri Singh said that there is no place left where the cows can roam freely. It is difficult for cattle to remain tied in one place.

“Most of the grazing land has been grabbed by the mafia. The State Government of Uttar Pradesh is making a plan to get such land identified and freed from illegal occupation,” said Singh.

He added, “There are several instances where people got acquainted to the gaushalas and then occupied its grazing land on lease. But instead of doing anything for the betterment of the gaushalas and cows, they have been using that land for the commercial use.”

“The state government can’t tolerate this. We shall get such land reclaimed after checking the records with the revenue department,” claimed Singh.

He also announced that the State Government is working on a plan to provide free medical care for cows. When the media persons asked on what government was doing to prevent the animals from being stolen, he said that a microchip will be implanted under the skin of the cows, so that they can be found easily if missing. The government will hire the private companies for this job, but the owners of the cattle will have to pay for the chip implant. At the end of the talk, he paid his respect to the image of Shripad Baba by offering a garland and worshipped the cows in the Gaushala.
