Agra, 2017.06.13 (Anuja Jaiswall, The Times of India): Four unidentified motorcycle borne miscreants looted Rs 24.75 lakh at gunpoint from a cashier of a CNG Petrol pump in Mathura in broad daylight on Monday. The cashier was on the way to deposit the money in the bank when the incident occurred. According to police the cashier, Arjun Singh along two other employees of Sawariya Gas limited, Satyendra Kumar, and driver, Ram Babu, was on way to the Axis bank branch in Vrindavan in a car when the youths waylaid them. Talking to TOI, site manager Ripu Daman Singh said that a youth on an Apache bike stopped the car just 300 meters away from the petrol pump and started fighting with the driver on some pretext. He said the youth then took out the car keys and was soon joined by three others. They together broke the car windows and snatched the bag containing the money from the cashier.
He said the youths, who were armed, threatened to kill the cashier and the others if they tried to resist them. The petrol pump staff alerted the police almost immediately but the suspects managed to flee. Senior Superintendent of Police, Mathura, Vinod Kumar Mishra said that the petrol pump employees were going to the bank without any security. He said even the local police station was not informed about it. He said recently the city had held a meeting with traders and requested them to inform the local police station in case they were carrying cash of more than Rs 5 lakhs.
