Vrindavan, 2015.11.25 (VT): Five-hundred-year-old history was repeated again as Shriman Chaitanya Mahaprabhu walked to Imlitala from Akrur village with thousands of devotees chanting, dancing and prancing in joy.
There could not be any better ecstatic experience of Nagar Sankirtan for the followers of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu than accompanying him in the advent to Vrindavan. A confluence of devotion, emotion and service rocked the streets of Vrindavan during Nagar Sankirtan. The sound of more than one hundred fifty mridanga and kartal resonated everywhere.
Thousands of devotees participated in the yatra, which began from the Akrur temple. The chanting of the holy name caused the devotees to dance, laugh and cry while walking along the lanes of the holy town.
The devotees followed the two chariots carrying the deities of Chaitanya Mahparabhu, which had came with them from Puri. In this way, they expressed their gratitude to the Lord for re-discovering Shri Dham Vrindavan.
The followers of Chaitanya Mahprabhu belonging from various Gaudiya Maths, temple, and ashrams gathered at Akrur Ghat. Shri Ful Dol Bihari Das, President of Chatur Sampraday Virakt Vaishnava Parishad; Acharya Shrivatsa Goswami, Sevait of Shri Radha Raman Temple, Bhakti Vedanta Madhusudhan Maharaj, Shri B.A. Paramadvaiti Swami, Shri Tamal Krishna Das, Shri Bhakti Prasad Sadhu Maharaj all jointly performed arati of Mahaprabhu before the ‘Yatra’ with Nagar Sankirtan begun.
Horses and camels dressed in the best of their finery were brought to lead the procession.
The chariot of Mahaprabhu was stopped in various places in the market where Mahaprabhu was worshipped by performing Aarati and offering prasadam. The temples which fell on the route of the procession also worshipped Mahaprabhu to welcome him in Vrindavan.
Beginning from the Akrur Ghat, the Nagar Sankirtan passed through the Mathura Vrindavan Marg, Nagar Palika crsossing, Rangji Mandir, Gopinath Bazar, Radha Raman Mandir, Cheer Ghat and then reached Imli Tala. A grand feast was organized at Imlitala in the honor of Mahaprabhu’s Vrindavan Advent.
Devotees from Iskcon, Imlitala, Vrinda Mission, Shri Krishna Chaitanya Mission, Shri Chaitanya Prema Samasthana, Shri Krishna Madhuri Trust, Harichand Trust, etc., participated in the divine event.
