Vrindavan, 2015.12.12 (VT): Domestic and international tourists visiting Vrindavan will soon be able to enjoy a heritage walk. Planned to be 1.4 km long, it is specifically designed to allow darshan of the ancient and medieval temples and deities.
The guided tour through the ancient temples and markets is envisioned to give tourists an experience into the traditional world of sacred Vraja, and is hoped to be a sort of pilgrimage of its kind. Tourists will ride from Banke Bihari Temple, via Madan Mohan Temple, Radha-Damodar Temple, Radha Raman Temple, Keshi Ghat, and the banks of Yamuna, finally back to the Heritage Walk Municipality junction.
To realize this grand project, an institution named ‘Itihas’ has begun ascertaining the circumstances in Vrindavan to prepare a report on the basis of which the details of the heritage walk will be finalized.
The World Bank has pledged to donate Rs.13 crores to build the heritage walk track. The Mathura Vrindavan Tourism and Development Corporation will commence work on this project in January 2016.
