Vrindavan, 15.12.16 (VT): On Bankebihari’s appearance day (Bihar Panchami), there were grand celebrations in the Bankebihari Temple and in Nidhivana, where he manifested to Swami Haridas.
Including special worship of the deity, the devotees and goswamis celebrated by distributing Mohana-bhoga. Devotees celebrated the event in Nidhivana by singing the kirtanas composed by the incarnation of Lalita Sakhi, Sangeet Shiromani Svami Haridasa, while performing a Panchamrita Mahabhisheka. A grand procession, via the major streets of Vrindavana, of Svami Haridasa took place from Nidhivana to the Bankebihari Temple, which was being showered with flowers by devotees.
The devotees and goswamis widely distributed Mohana-bhoga (Kesariya halva) Mahaprasada from large containers to pilgrims all along the various pathways to the temple. Numerous devotees who had gathered at Nidhivana sang and danced ecstatically entranced by Svami Haridasa’s kirtanas. Female devotees performed the Dandiya dance as well as Haryanvi and Rajasthani cultural dances. The whole of Vrindavana was decorated with lights on this festival .
