Braj, 2018.01.13 (VT) In the wake of the circular issued by the Allahabad High Court, the district administration and the police department have been issuing notices to the temples and mosques of Braj to register or remove loudspeakers.
Organizations must register loudspeakers before 15th January and will only be allowed to use the speakers on low volume between 10am and 6pm. Using speakers at higher volume or at non-permissible times will cause organizations to lose their loudspeaker permit.
To date, 20 organizations have applied for registration of their loudspeakers. Police have issued notices to more than 12 temples and 15 mosques to apply for registration immediately or remove loudspeakers.
Regional Officer of the Pollution Control Board, Dr Arvind Kumar, said that the loudspeakers are restricted by the order of the High Court and their use must confined to the limits set by the court.
