Patients come from near and far to have free cataract operations

Vrindavan, 2018.01.22 (VT) At an eye camp held at Vatsalyagram Vrindavan, patients from states including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab received underwent surgery.

Kamalaben Babulal Parikh Charitable Trust sent a the team of doctors headed by Dr Shyam Agarwal to perform the operations. The team of doctors and nurses visits Vatsalyagram every few months, whenever a donor is found to fund an eye camp.

During the eye camp, which ran from 18th-21st January, 578 patients were examined and 270 underwent surgery to replace the cataract covered lenses in their eyes with new lenses. Dr Umashankar said that the staff worked together “like a family” to serve the patients.
