Delhi, 2018.03.07 (FAB) Veteran Kathak dancer Padmabhushan Vidushi Uma Sharma arranges ‘Braj Raas’ and ‘Hori Rasiya’ at her dance school Bhartiya Sangeet Sadan in East of Kailash in Delhi.
This year also, she, along with Art Karat’s Asha Kamal Modi and S. K. Aggarwal, hosted a Holi celebration for the who’s who from the cultural fraternity of Delhi.
Author Uma Vasudev, Film Scholar – Historian Aruna Vasudev, Actress Kamia Malhotra, veteran Kuchipudi dancers Padmabhushan and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Radha and Raja Reddy along with Kaushalya Reddy, Bharatnatyam dancer Pratibha Pralhad, writer Bhaichand Patel, theater activist Aziz Qureshi, painter Jatin Das, bureaucrats Tripurari Sharan, Additional Secretary Sujata Prasad, former ICCR DG Suresh Goyal, Kathak dancers Nalini and Kamilini, noted sitar played Ustad Sujat Khan, Dr. K. K. Agarwal are a few names from among the attendees who enjoyed the Holi celebration.
Kathak performances were presented by the disciples of Uma Sharma. Then Astha Goswami from Vrindavan presented thumri based songs in Holi Bhav and later Hori Rasiya presented by the Banchari Group.
