Mathura: 2018.03.20 (VT) A bullfight on the Delhi-Agra Highway caused a car accident on Tuesday. The incident shows the prevalence of stray bulls on the streets of Vrindavan and Mathura, despite repeated promises that the problem is being taken care of.
Several people, including tourists, have been injured and killed by bulls, who engage in lengthy territorial battles, pushing each other from side to side and sweeping up pedestrians and motorists in their wake.
In this latest incident, two bulls can be seen fighting on the medium strip of the highway, completely oblivious about the danger of passing traffic. The scuffle causes the dirt on the medium strip to fly up into the air, reducing the visibility in the area. As the bulls carry their fight off the medium strip onto the road, a car hits them. One of the bulls walks off slowly, and the other runs off.
The car was not travelling at a high speed, so the driver and passengers escaped with only minor injuries.
