Responsibility for the Heritage City survey was given to the Design and Planning Council Company, which looked at Vishram Ghat, Dwarkadhish temple, Chatta Bazaar, Sri Krishna Janma Bhoomi complex, Shiv Tal, and along with those places, the intersections at Bharatpur Gate, Masani, State Bank and Bhuteshwar were all surveyed.
The survey detailed what kind of work needs to be done in which place, which tasks will be easier or more difficult to carry out and so on. They looked at encroachments on the main thoroughfares, always a problem in the need for moving pedestrian and vehicle traffic, at the drainage system, the condition of shops and buildings, electric wiring and poles, transformers, the condition of the footpaths and so on. In particular they noted obstacles to improvements being made.
The Heritage City nodal officer, CDO Manish Kumar Varma said that the report will now be turned over to the City Monitoring Committee which will study it and then give its approval and a detailed action report made. From there, a detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared and sent to the City Development Ministry for final approval and implementation.
