Vrindavan comes one step closer to become a model city

Mathura, February, 25th 2016: The developmental projects to be undertaken in the model city program were outlined in a meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by Shri S.B. Singh, the Secretary of the Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority.
Improving the urban living conditions, Redressing Civic issues, providing facilities for the pilgrims and tourists, Solid Waste Management, Reducing water logging, Lightening system etc. were outlined and discussed in the meeting.
Coordination among the various government departments was emphasized during the meeting. The final Detailed Project Report will be ready on the 3rd March. It should be noted that a meeting was convened in the MVDA conference room on 23rd January 2016, which was chaired by the Divisional Commissioner Shri Pradeep Bhatnagar. Many stakeholders from Vrindavan participated in the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions on how they want to see Vrindavan.
The site visit of the various proposed projects will be conducted and then the DPR will be made on 3rd march. A Solid Waste management plant with a budget of Rupees Twenty Five crore is proposed under this program. The municipality was asked to include all those colonies of Vrindavan which are situated outside the municipal limits, so that they can also be benefitted from the Solid Waste Management Plant.
The SP Traffic informed that one way traffic plan has been prepared. A control room has been established for the CCTV’s to be installed in the Parikrama Marg. No entry is also proposed in three locations, with the help of the MVDA.
The drains will be covered and will be connected with the sewerage system. The municipality will cover the drains in its periphery, whereas the drains outside the municipal limit will be covered by the agencies or societies maintaining them.
The MVDA has also written letter to resume the Radha Rani Express and develop the Vrindavan Road station for the better connectivity with Vrindavan through the rail route.
High Standard Public conveniences equipped with toilets, bathrooms and change rooms will be developed on the Parikrama Marg. The toilets will be built on the vehicle parking sites also.
