Vrindavan, 2016.02.25 (DJ: Preparations are underway for the all-India convention of youth from the Bhartiya Janta Party in Vrindavan. The three-day convention of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will be formally inaugurated on Friday with the appropriate rituals.

BJYM President Anurag Thakur will arrive in Vrindavan on Friday for the ground breaking ceremony at the Vishwa Shantisewa Sadan. Youth from across the country coming to attend the convention will be housed in cottages built for the occasion. These cottages will be inside large pandal tents.

The Yuva Morcha national convention is being considered important in anticipation of next year’s assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. The convention will be held over the weekend of March 4-6. Estimated participation is at 20,000 delegates who must register if they wish to play a part in the activities.

Nearly five hundred representatives will be present for the BJYM National Executive meeting on March 4. On March 5, BJP president Amit Shah will inaugurate the convention, and it is hoped that PM Narendra Modi himself will come to close the convention with the valedictory address. Latest reports seem to confirm it.

On the second day of the convention, all of the BJP’s national office holders as well as Union ministers will be present. “Several national leaders like Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitely, Manohar Panikar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Uma Bharati and the Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states and office bearers of BJYM from block to highest level are likely to attend the convention,” said Rajesh Chaudhary, national convenor of the convention.

On this occasion, the youth will be given tasks for the coming state elections, will be familiarized with all aspects of the Union government’s programs. The event will focus on youth participation in the Assembly elections.

According to BJP district president Dr. D.P. Goel, the UP state party leadership has been guiding its team of young activists in preparing to host the convention.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday BJYM National General Secretary Rahul Kothari arrived in Vrindavan to take stock of preparations.
