“The congregation of musicians, dancers of high repute and saints will pay homage to Swami Haridas, the architect of Dhrupad style,” Gopi Goswami, Secretary of Sangeet Shiromani Swami Haridas Samiti said today.
Goswami said that the festival, proposed to be held in an open air theatre of Bonmaharaj Institute of Management and Technology in Ramanreti, is an annual pilgrimage for the connoisseurs of Indian art and culture.
“Every year the festival is attended by thousands of lovers of music and dance as they get an opportunity to see the?love of Lord Krishna and Radha, immortalised by great saints of this country,” Goswami told reporters.
With a history of over 150 years, the festival remembers Swami Haridas’s acute prowess of Indian classical music that made Banke Bihari reappear on earth, he said.
The festival will feature performances by eminent artists like Odisi dance by Dona Ganguly and group, tabla jugalbandi by Pt Ashok Pandey and Pt Bhawani Shankar, vocal by Pt Ajay Pohankar and Kathak nritya by Haridas Academy.
