Vridavan 2016.04.02 (VT): Yamuna, the holy river of Braja, has been facing serious and intractable pollution issues for a long time has been given a new ray of hope. Maa Amritanandamayi, affectionately known as Ammachi, the famous saint from Kerala, has already donated 100 crore rupees for cleaning the Ganga, and now Yamuna activists in Vrindavan are also hoping for help from her in restoring the lost glory of the Yamuna.

Clik here to view.Maa Amritanandamayi Amma will be in Vrindavan on April 8 to promote the noble cause of The Braj Foundation. On this occasion several local bodies are expecting Amma Ji to take initiatives for a clean Yamuna drive.
Braj Foundation spokesman Shri Krishna Saras told our correspondents that Amma has recently donated 100 crore rupees for the “Nanami Gange” drive. She handed over the cheque to the Union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley, at her Kerala ashram.
The president of The Braj Foundation Mr. Vineet Narain went to Kerala last September to appeal to Amma to take the initiative to save the natural and cultural heritage of Vrindavan and Braj.
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi too was inspired by Amma Ji’s “Amal Bharat Swachha“ campaign and so started the “Swachh Bharat” campaign for a clean India.
The president of “Dharma Raksha Sangh” Mr. Saurabh Gaud told our correspondent that during Amma Ji’s programme at Fogla Ashram on April 8 at 10:00 am, many representatives of the clean Yamuna drive will meet Amma Ji and make an appeal to her to help in reviving the lost glory of Yamuna.
