Vrindavan 2016.04.22 (VT): Everything in the world is owned by Thakur Bankey Bihari, but now he himself is facing problems. Thakur Ji wants to eat raw food, but despite of the presence of such a tradition, he is not getting it. Instead he is getting nothing but cooked dishes all the time, and this is happening for the first time in the known history of the temple. The problem has arisen due to an internal dispute between the serving families.
As per the tradition, Thakur Bihari Ji is served four meals a day, viz., Baal Bhoga in the morning, Raj Bhoga at noon, Uthaapan Bhoga in the late afternoon, and Shayan Bhoga at night before taking rest. Thakur Ji is served raw food for lunch as per the tradition, which is prepared by the families serving Bihari Ji. But for some time now, there has been some conflict between the sevayat families due to which the service for the raw food has been interrupted. As a result raw food hasn’t been served to Thakur Ji for the past four days.
The president of the organizing committee Nand Kishor Upmanyu had a meeting with the sevayats and the organizing committee to have a better food management for Thakur Ji.
Women participation in the organizing committee
Vrindavan today has reported earlier also about the gender discrimination in the organizing committee at Bankey Bihari temple. Women does’t have the right to be a part of the organizing committee, or even cast a vote, except special situation, for the Bankey Bihari seva committee. The election for the organizing committee is on April 24. After the report in Vrindavan Today, now the candidates can be seen making promises to work for the women rights in the Bankey Bihari organizing committee.
