Vrindavan celebrated 2523rd birth anniversary of Adi Shankaracharya

Vrindavan 2016.05.12 (VT): The 2523rd anniversary of the spiritual leader of hermits, Adi Shankaracharya was celebrated in a grand way in Vrindavan. People celebrated the birth anniversary by organising a rally in the glory of Adi Shankaracharya. The rally started from Gopeshwar Mahadev temple and ended at Vrindavan Bagicha. A function was also organised at Vrindavan Bagicha where saints from all over the city gathered to throw some light on the life and teachings of Adi Shankaracharya.

Swami Narayananand Maharaj said that Lord Shiva incarnated in the form of Adi Shankaracharya in the Kaaladi village in South India. His father also was a great saint and had great knowledge about the Vedas.

Acharya Badrish and Swami Sureshanand Maharaj said that Adi Shankaracharya was not bounded by the materialistic world which helped him to unify the world with spirituality. Mahant Haribol Baba and and Prahlad Daas said that Adi Skhankaracharya was born to save the Vedas and Hindu culture.

Biharilal Vashishth said that Adi Skhankaracharya had contributed greatly in saving the Sanatan Dharma. Mukesh Gautam, Ram Krishna Agarwal, Dr. Manoj Mohan Shastri, Raju Dwivedi, Dr. Swami Shankaranand, Dr. Vinod Banerjee along with others were available on this occasion.

Celebration in Mathura

The birth anniversary of Adi Shakaracharya is also celebrated at Bhagwat Bhawan in Mathura. The statue of Adi Shakaracharya at the Radha Krshina temple was decorated with flowers on the occasion followed by grand aarti. Head of organising committee Mr. Gopeshwarnath Chaturvedi said that Adi Shankaracharya contributed greatly in saving the Sanatan Dharma by establishing four spritual centers across India.
