Vrindavan 2016.05.18 (VT): As per the pro-poor policy of the World Bank, 8- crore rupees has been sanctioned to develop the area around Bankey Bihari temple and Kanha Forest area. 40 crore rupees will be invested in developing the lanes near Bankey Bihari temple and another 40 crore given for the forest area. A blueprint for the project is also ready.
The World Bank team had a meeting with DM Rajesh Kumar at the office of Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority (MVDA) along with other concerned departments. The Tourism Department proposed to develop the 13 lanes connecting the Bankey Bihari temple, which was refined to develop 21 lanes instead. Also, public facilities in the area is also proposed for the devotees visiting the city.
Two parking areas are also proposed to be developed in the the city, with the help of World Bank, which will be in the Kalidah and Darookh area. The parking project is also expected to cost 40 crore rupees approximately.
40 crore rupees will be invested in developing the forest area around the city and to revive the dying forests around Ahilyaganj. As of now, 25 acres of land, out of 300 acres of total forest land, has already been approved in Ahilyaganj for the forestry project. Public facilities and guest houses are also proposed in this area.
Concerned departments are now preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) which will be submitted within 15 days. Tenders will be floated in June and work will be started in August. Stephene from the World Bank team, MVDA Vice Chairman C.P. Singh, Chief Engineer R.K. Shukla, D.K. Sharma, Amit Kadiyaan, Tourism Officer Anupam Srivastava, Shalini Mahajan, Satyendra Pandey, Architect Mayank Garg, Secretary of Ujjwal Braj Anant Sharma along with others were available in the meeting.
