Vrindavan 2016.05.30 (VT): The illegal encroachment creating a hurdle in the construction of the proposed cycle track was demolished yesterday. Residential buildings, shops and ashram walls were brought down who failed to meet the time limit as per the notice issued three months back. People tried to protest a bit but they were not able to do much because of the presence of the Police force and PAC security force.
The JCB machines escorted by Ram Araj Yadav (City Magistrate), Vijay Kumar (MVDA Secretary), R.K. Chaturvedi (CO Sadar) and Police and PAC force brought down the illegal hoardings and uni-pole first. After that the houses and shops were brought down who were causing a hindrance in road widening and cycle track construction. Many kiosks were also removed from the road sides for the needful.
The officers reached to demolish Krishna General Store shop at Gopalgarh faced the fury of the local women. As soon as they started to demolish the shop, local women started to argue with them. After this, JCBs demolished five more shops in the area though people accused them to demolish without any prior information. Social worker Kapil Upadhyay showed the proof of legal construction to save his house at the Ashram Vihar colony.
Post this the JCBs reached 100 feet road via Prem Mandir, where they demolished the art gallery of Padmshree Krishna Kanhai, wall of Nandanone apart from the walls of other illegal constructions.
Ram Araj Yadav said that further the campaign will continue on Monday as well which will cover the areas from 100 feet road to Vidyapeeth crossing.
