Vrindavan 2016.07.19 (VT): Devotees from all over the world throned Thalur Bankey Bihari temple today on the occasion of Guru Purnima. Thakur Ji also welcomed them by opening all five gates of the temple so that the devotees can move easily amongst heavy crowd.
The organising committee stationed temple guards and security men, with the assistance from Police department, to help maintain security inside and outside the temple. Committee member Dinesh Goswami said that around 25 temple guards and volunteers have been deployed to maintain peace during Guru Purnima celebration. Apart from that, 20 guards from Delhi and Police men were also deployed for security reasons.
He said that all five gates of the temple were opened today instead of three on regular days, gate number two, three and five for entering and gate one and four for exit purpose. Temporary barricads were also installed to guide crowd circulation.
Senior Sub Inspector Naresh Singh said that extra police has been deployed in the area to maintain peace and security during the festival. Loud speakers and barricades are being used to guide the crowd, and this will be there till Wednesday, July 20. He said that as all gates were opened, extra police men on each gate has been deployed to limit actions of anti social elements. Police men in civil dress has also been deployed for security reasons.
