Vrindavan 2016.08.17 (VT): The 14-day Nad festival was started in a grand way at Boro Surma Kunj located at Pattharpura. The festival is organised for Rupa Goswami and the Nad tradition he used to follow which is important for Gaudiya community. Many Gaudiya sants from various parts pf the country participated in the inauguration ceremony, which started with Harinam Sankirtan and sant sewa.
Mahant Premdas Shastri said that Rupa Goswami was one of the supreme Goswamis. He was the one who wrote many scriptures which are the guidelines for Gaudiya community now. Rupa Goswami’s Bhakti-rasamrita Sindhu and Ujjvala-Nilamani are some of the greatest scriptures in world history.
Dr. Achyuta Lal Bhatt and Shrivatsa Goswami said that Rupa Goswami was one of the favourite disciples of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and that he has highlighted many sacred places of Braj. They also said that Rupa Goswami wrote many scriptures to highlight the Braj and tell the pastimes of Radha and Krishna to the world.
