Vrindavan 2016.08.29 (VT): The Central Government wants to develop Vatsalya Gram as motivational centre for its girls’ health and education initiative, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme.
This was one of the announcements Dr. Mahesh Sharma (Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism) made on Sunday at Vatsalya Gram. He said that Vatsalya Gram and its founder Sadhvi Ritambhara are playing an important role in the mission to develop women’s development. He said that now the Central Government has planned to make Vatsalya Gram the motivational centre so that the programme can be taken to the next step.
In other announcements, Dr. Sharma spoke about the “Krishna Circuit“ master plan, said that the Central Government is investing 175 crore rupees for the plan which includes developing the region as tourist centre and providing basic amenities at important tourist spots.
The Government will also develop the connecting road to the Yamuna Expressway and the Panchakosi Parikrama Marg. He blamed the UP government of holding things up due to internal disputes, but that the Centre would act unilaterally where it could to push these plans forward.
A similar circuit by the name “Ramayan Circuit” has been planned with its centre at Ayodhya at a cost of 225 crore rupees.
Apart from that the much awaited helicopter connectivity will also be provided between Delhi and Mathura/Vrindavan as well as Agra, for which unsuccessful efforts were made in past as well.
Dr. Sharma met girls from the hostel of Samvid Gurukulam school of Vatsalya Gram and told them the story of his own struggles during school days. He also motivated the girls to fulfill the dreams of Sadhvi Maa Ritambara by putting their best in studies and other extracurricular activities.
As of now, Vatsalya Gram has branches at Vrindavan, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Nepal. The Vrindavan campus has a school and hostel facility for girls, apart from orphanage and a school for differently abled people.
The Beti Bachao Beti Parhao initiative has the purpose of preventing gender-biased sex selection, ensuring the survival, protection and education of the girl child, as well as their participation in every aspect of Indian social development.
Dr. Sharma also visited the ashram of Vijay Kaushal Maharaj in Nikunjavan, Panighat village, and took his blessings.
