Vrindavan 2016.08.31 (VT): Showing his concern over the slow pace of implementation in the developmental projects in Vrindavan, Divisional Commissioner Chandra Kant has asked for regular reports from the concerned departments. In particular, he has instructed JE Shailendra Srivastava to send weekly progress reports detailing the riverfront project at six ghats in Vrindavan. Mr. Chandra Kant said that he is very disappointed by the slow progress of the projects that are under the direct supervision of CM Akhilesh Yadav.
The riverfront project includes the revamping and renovation of six ghats in Vrindavan viz. Keshi Ghat, Vihar Ghat, Jugal Ghat, Cheer Ghat, and Bhramar Ghat. These developments are being done by Irrigation Department. A covered RCC drain, 13 kilometres long, is also being built to redirect drainage water to Sewer Treatment Plants (STPs).
The Commissioner has also asked a regular progress report for the multi-level parking project at Rukmani Vihar, cycle track project, footpath development, etc., though he seemed bit more satisfied with these projects. Mr. Chandra Kant said that riverfront project is one of the most awaited projects initiated by State Government for which the timeline is December 2016. Therefore good progress and continuous monitoring is required to meet the deadlines. He rebuked officers a couple of days back on the slow place of projects.
The projects which are directly under the supervision of UP State Government are Adarsh Mathura project to develop Mathura-Vrindavan as model city, multi-level parking project, cycle track project and Barsana ropeway project.
