Vrindavan, 2016.12.13 (VT): Temperatures have dipped and concurrently the sale of the winter garments for the deities are soaring at the markets of Vrindavan. Small quilts, blankets Jackets, sweaters, mufflers, caps are fast flying off the shelves. The demands for the tiny colorful warm clothes are going up. The devotees are doing everything to protect their Thakur jis from cold. They are buying small quilt, sweaters, caps, blankets, shawls etc. for their Laddu Gopal and the other deities. Some of them had placed order with the shopkeepers several months back for special attire for their beloved Thakur ji. The shops at Loi Bazar are attracting the devotees, as many varieties of the tiny warm clothes are available here. Excitement can be seen on the faces of the devotees, as they find new colorful designs on the woolen clothes. The warm clothes are not only being purchased for their own deities, but they are offering warm clothes in the different temples of Vrindavan. According to the shop owners, there is poor business in this year due to the demonetization. The wholesale business has gone down. But there are some devotees who are ready to pay any price for the good quality winter costumes for their deities.
