Devkinandan Thakur picked up broom to clean Vrindavan, hundreds followed

Vrindavan, 2017.03.07 (VT): Bhagvatacharya Shri Devkinanadan Thakur picked up the brooms to clean Vrindavan on Tuesday. Hundreds of his followers assisted him to clean the streets of the holy land of Vrindavan.
A ‘Bhagvat Saptaha Yajna’ is going on at Shri Priya Kant ju Mandir, where Shri Devkinandan Thakur is delivering the discourses. Hundreds of his followers have come to Vrindavan to relish the nectar of ‘Shrimad Bhagvatam’. IMG-20170307-WA0108The occasion was used for the charitable activities and some activism also apart from the devotional activities.
On Tuesday, the devotees assembled near Raman Reti police chowki to clean a portion of Parikrama Marg. Shri Devkinandan Thakur led the cleanliness drive in which many residents of Vrindavan also participated. They were holding the brooms for cleaning the streets, bags to pick up the garbage and the placards displaying the messages promoting the cleanliness.

Shri Mukesh Gautam, the chairman of the Vrindavan Municipality along with the trustees of the Vishwa Shanti Charitable Trust also participated in the cleanliness drive.

Talking to the media, Shri Devkinandan Thakur said, “People come to Vrindavan with great devotion. They want to experience divinity in this holy city, but they find filth everywhere. The purpose of organizing this cleanliness drive is to give the message that Vrindavan is the land of the Divine Couple, and no one should make it dirty.”
Shri Vijay Sharma, the Secretary of the Vishwa Shanti Charitable Trust; Shri H.P. Agarwal, Indresh Sharan, Chandra Prakash, Kishan Goud, Kamal Sharma, Gajendra Singh etc. were present during the drive.
