Vrindavan, 2017.05.24 (VT): Durga Vahini is conducting a seven-day “Bravery Seminar” at Chitrakoot Ashram in Vrindavan. Durga Vahini means the carrier of Durga, meaning a lion or tiger. It is the women’s wing of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), and Sadhvi Rithambara is its founding chairperson.
Amidst talks of how to be an ideal wife and mother, the girls are learning about self-defense through martial arts training.
In addition, the organizers briefed the girls about the dangers of “Love Jihad”, a tactic by which Muslim men allegedly target Hindu girls in an effort to convert them through emotional manipulation. (Official investigations into the matter have proved inconclusive, however). The seminar is currently in its fourth day.
