Vrindavan, 2017.06.03 (VT): The UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam today presented their plan for Govardhan’s development to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. The presentation took place at the Public Works Department’s headquarters in Lucknow.
The project, which is to be completed by the end of 2018, includes banning all traffic from the entire parikrama marg and instead providing trams and battery-powered busses for pilgrims. Special vehicles will be made available for the disabled.
A new ring road will be created parallel to the parikrama marg to accomodate traffic, and six large parking plazas will also be provided.
The plan also includes a kirtan arena, museum, fountain park and a 300-foot statue of Lord Krishna. Drinking water and washrooms will be provided for the devotees’ convenience. Trees and bushes will be planted according to the NGT’S regulations.
