Agra, 2017.06.22 (Aditya Devi, TNN): The state tourism department has prepared a Rs 93.6 crore plan under the World Bank’s pro-poor tourism project in Mathura to revive nine ancient kunds (water bodies) and upgrade infrastructure around the Banke Bihari temple.
According to the project details, Rs 26.86 crore have been allocated for the Banke Bihari temple and areas surrounding it, while Rs 66.77 crore have been earmarked for reviving nine ancient kunds in Braj.
As far as the temple is concerned, the amount will be spent on repairing all approaching roads leading to the religious site, developing a parking area and installing signage and street lights.
The nine kunds that will be revived include Vrishbhanu kund, Priya kund, Vihval Kund, Harji Kund, Narad Kund, Potra Kund, Davanal kund, Madhusudan Kund and Govind Kund.
