Vrindavan, November 28th 2015: A cultural fair named as ‘Chaitanya Mela’ is being organized in the campus of Shri Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir to commemorate Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s Advent in Vrindavan. The whole of Vrindavan celebrated the historic event of Mahaprabhu’s 500th advent to Vraja.
The Chaitanya Mela (fair) is presented through a fascinating panorama of craft, cuisine and cultural activities. Several professional artists and the students from various schools performed in the five days long cultural event organized by the Vrindavan Research Institute.
The cultural dances of Jehar, Charkula, Deepak and Mayur Nritya were the centre of attraction and kept the audience captivated throughout the event. The cultural dances were performed under the direction of Ekta Agarwal.
The students of Bhaktivedanta Gurukula performed a dance drama on the life Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The audience was mesmerized by seeing the students in the dress of Mahaprabhu and his associates.
Aditya Chowdhry, the Chief coordinator of the event said, “ this fair is going to create a history in Vrindavan. We have organized this event in such a way that it will help promoting the religious tourism in the town.”
The handicrafts and food stalls have been the attraction along with the cultural event. Shri Sukumar Goswami from the Vrindavan Research Institute said, “We have tried to celebrate the historic event in a different way. We have given it the form of a fair where one can enjoy the cultural event and do shopping.”
Mahendra Singh, Rajkumar Shukla, Ramesh Chandra, Ashok Dixit, Vinod Jha, Ram Pratap, Yudhishthir Saini, Sukumar Goswami, Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Krishna Kumar Mishra etc. were present in the event.
