Vrindavan, November 29, 2015: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Vrindavan unit has taken decision to oppose the U.P. state government’s reported move to take over the Banke Bihari Temple of Vrindavan and Vindhyavasini Temple of Mirzapur.

According to the release issued by the VHP’s Vrindavan unit, “Government shouldn’t take over the temples. This is against the constitutional right of the believers. The government of a secular country shouldn’t take over the worship centers of any community.”

VHP’s local president, Shri Sourav Gaud warned that the VHP would oppose tooth and nail against any such move. “All the options are open for us. We shall challenge it in the court as well as stage demonstration against it,” said Gaud.

“The role of the government should be limited to the protection of the temples, not generating revenue from them,” said Shri Devendra Nath Goswami, patron of the local VHP. “The government can’t dare to take over any mosque. It is simply a conspiracy against the hindus. We shall not sit idle to watch the temple take over,” Goswami added.

Banke Bihari Temple committee’s vice president Ghanshyam Goswami said that the government was eyeing on the huge wealth of the temple and the daily donation. It was finding a way to have access to that wealth.

Jagdish Jadon, Rajat Goswami, Brajesh Goswami, Amit, Somnath, Mohan lal Mohi, Tarun, Krishna, Vasant, Mohit, Avinash, Rajul etc. signed the resolution.
