Vrindavan, 2017.11.11 (VT): At the Radha Rani Temple in Barsana, an altercation between two devotees brought Shri Ladli-Lal’s chhappan bhog ceremony to an abrupt end.
Eyewitnesses say that while the chhappan bhog offering was being laid out, two devotees got into an argument. The conflict began with words, but soon escalated to an intense fistfight. One of the men used a heavy wooden stick to beat the other. Bhog offerings were scattered here and there in the fray.

The priests, who were just then bringing Radha and Krishna out into the jagmohan (outer altar area) to enjoy the chhappan bhog, were forced to rush the Divine Couple back into the inner altar for their safety.
One devotee, who prefers to remain anonymous, remarked, “This incident is an embarassment. The CCTV footage of the fight has gone viral and the whole world is watching. Temple is Radharani’s home, not the WWE. Keep your personal issues outside.”
Another devotee said, “The fight between these two devotees seems so symbolic. I don’t know what they were arguing about, but for me the message is clear. So often we get absorbed in our egoistic fights with our brothers, and forget all about Radha and Krishna. Sometimes we even destroy the things that are most precious to Them.
“Making the Divine Couple happy should be the goal of our life. The argument between these two devotees is a great reminder for all of us. How merciful Radharani is!” (V)
