After being officially sworn in, the mayor gave a short speech expressing gratitude to all for his victory. Mayor Aryabandhu said that he would work hard for the development of Mathura-Vrindavan, endeavouring to make the municipality beautiful, pollution free and healthy.

Dr Aryabandhu assured Municipal Corporation employees that they would receive their salaries on time and promised that retired pensioners would receive their entitlements. The Mayor also appealed to the councilors to co-operate with Central and State Governments so that development projects can move ahead speedily.

After the Mayor’s speech, the remaining 70 counselors were sworn in. The group was dominated by men, but there were also several Hindu women and 2 Muslim women.

The newly formed municipal government used the occasion as an opportunity to launch an app that enables people to give suggestions/complaints directly to the municipality. The app was launched jointly by Mayor Dr. Aryandhu, the Energy Minister, Shrikant Sharma, Dairy Development Minister, Chau Laxmi Narayan. Municipal Commissioner, Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, appealed to people to download it.
