2018.01.10 (VT) Sripad Rajendra Dasji Maharaj was awarded the honorary title Doctor of Literature (D.Lit) by the President of India, Sri Ramnath Kovind ji. The title was awarded at a ceremony held on 8th January in the auditorium of Sri Ram Bhadracharya Ji Divayang University in Chitrakoot, near Maharaj’s birthplace.
The title was awarded to Maharaj in honour of his work spreading spiritual knowledge. His deep knowledge of Sanskrit texts and his enjoyable katha style has helped make the wisdom of the scriptures accessible to the masses.
Maharaj’s full title will now be Dr. Malook Peethadhishwar Swami Shri Rajendra Dasji Maharaj. Maharaj ji is presently giving his first katha after being awarded the title.
Maharaj is one of the founders of the Jadkhor Godham (goshala), which is on the Rajasthan side of the Braj Chaurasi Kos. As per local tradition, this is considered to be one of the places where Sri Krishna brought His cows for grazing.
