Mathura, 2018.02.22 (VT) Dozens of illegal billboards are being torn down across Mathura today. Municipal Corporation officials warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in unauthorized billboards.
The campaign to remove illegal billboards around the Sri Krishna Janma Bhoomi, is being run today, just a day ahead of the CM’s visit. Other areas that are being targeted for removal of billboards are Masani square, Bhuteshwar square and Govardhan intersection.
Under the Municipal Corporation’s regulations, billboards can not be placed within 50 metres of main temples and intersections. On Wednesday, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Ajit Kumar Singh, held a meeting with the representatives of the marketing agencies responsible for the billboards.
