Barsana, 2018.02.21 (ET) The Uttar Pradesh government is making all out efforts to make this year’s Lathmar Holi in Barsana bigger than ever and have it registered it in the Guinness Book of World Records. In order to manage such huge crowds, security has been beefed up in Barsana as the chief ministers of three states, along with several of their cabinet colleagues, will attend the Lathmar Holi, celebrations on February 24.
Hurling of rose powder (gulal) and water balloons at women have been prohibited. Any attempt to ill-treat women will invite punitive action, SSP Swapnil Mamgai warned. Restrictions on entry of vehicles into Barsana will be imposed from Friday evening, SP (Traffic) Brajesh Kumar Singh said. Read more
