Mathura, 2018.02.28 (VT) While temples around Braj are celebrating Holi by throwing colours and flowers, Vrindavan’s ISKCON temple is a Holi-free zone, although the white floor still turns pink from the colours that fall off the clothes of visitors.
At ISKCON, 2nd March will be celebrated as Gaur Purnima, the appearance day of Lord Chaitanya. On this day, devotees will attend an abhishek ceremony of the temple’s Gaur-Nitai deities and will listen to speakers describe the efforts of Lord Chaitanya to bring Harinam to every town and village.

ISKCON Vrindavan’s annual ‘boat festival’ is also approaching and will be held this year on 7th March. On this day, the specially designed floor of the temple is filled with water and Thakurji is taken around on a boat while devotees sing Harinam Kirtan.
ISKCON will also hold a Rathayatra from Mathura’s Vikas Market on 9th March at 12pm. Jagannath, Baldev and Subhadra will grace the streets of Mathura while devotees enthusiastically dance and play kirtan, creating a joyous spectacle that is said to benefit everyone who witnesses or participates in it.
