Banks will be closed for four consecutive days at the end of March. 29th March will be a holiday for Mahavir Jayanti, 30th is Good Friday and 31st is the holiday for Hazrat Ali’s birthday. April 1st is Sunday, so banks will be closed on 29th will open on April 2nd.
During holiday periods, ATMs are often found without cash, inconveniencing many. This problem is particularly severe in Vrindavan, which becomes packed during long weekends, so, by evening, most of the ATMs in town are sure to be out of cash.
Bank Manager DK Agarwal said that, banks are working hard to get everything in order before the holiday at the end of the month. Banks are endeavoring to ensure that ATMs are stocked with extra currency, however those travelling into or out of Braj are advised to withdraw cash before the bank closures.
