Hemp smugglers arrested in Mathura

Mathura 2016.04.04 (VT): Mathura police has discovered the network of drug smugglers who were into the smuggling of hemp from Odisha to Vrindavan. The head of the gang told that Vrindavan is the new emerging market for it.

Two days back, police has traced a network to smuggle hemp from Odisha to Vrindavan via Delhi. The skoda car was thus trapped and police got hold of the smugglers with the pile of hemp with them.

S.P. (RA) Mr. Arun Kumar told our correspondent that the buyer, Manoj, resident of Maant was trying to purchase hemp from the seller Ishwar, resident of Satna. The plan was to sell it in Vrindavan. The police is now trying to get the details of other smugglers involved in the deal of hemp worth 20 lac rupees. Police is also decalred a prize of 5,000 rupees for whoever helps them with the information about the smugglers.

As per the information, the smugglers would have sold the hemp for 40 lac rupees. Mr. Kumar also told that the summglers planned it to sell small sachets of hemp around school and colleges of Vrindavan and Mathura.
