Vrindavan 2016.04.13 (VT): Yamuna Chatth was celebrated grandly in the holy city of Vrindavan. During the celebration at Keshi Ghat yesterday, Chairman of the Municipal Corporation, Mr. Mukesh Gautam said that we need to have cummulative efforts to save the river Yamuna, which is the refelection of Indian tradition and sacred life.
Earlier in the day, Nand Kumar Pathak, Mahesh Chandra Sharma, Sanjay Ballabh Gautam, Krishna Chandra Gautam, Suresh Chandra Sharma, Dr. Devendra Shastri, Giridhari Brajwasi from Brajwasi Teerth Panda Association, Bramhan Mahasabha and Brajwasi Panda Mahasabha did the garlanding and worship of Yamuna, with 101 liters of milk.
A special campaign was also organised in order to aware people for keeping the Yamuna and free from pollution. Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) organised a rally in the glory of Yamuna, from Gandhi Park to old Keshi Ghat.
INTUC member said that the efforts by MVDA and State Government are inadequet and demanded better steps for a pure and pollution free Yamuna. INTUC President Tarachand Goswami, Dr. Ashok Agarwal, Nootan Bihari Parik, Narayan Yadav, Sohan Singh Sisodia amongst others were available on this occasion.
