Vrindavan, April 18, 2016: Swami Nirmalanandanatha, the head of the Shri Adi Chunchanagiri Mahasamsthan Math of Karnataka visited Vrindavan on Monday. During his tour he paid respect to Thakur Shri Radha Vrindavan Chandra at the ‘Chandrodaya Mandir’ and visited the grand kitchen of the Akshaya Patra, from where thousands of plates are distributed in the schools of Vraja under the Mid-day Meals program.
Senior Vice President Shri Suvyakta Narasimha Dasa and vice president Shri Bharat Dasa of the Chandrodaya Mandir welcomed Swamiji with garlands.
It should be noted that more than 400 educational institutions, including a medical college, have been established in the country and are being run by the Chunchanagiri Math.
It is said that Swami Nirmalanandanatha, who is the 72nd head of the Mutt, was the college mate of the U.P. Chief Minister Shri Akhilesh Yadav in the Mysore Engineering College. He was named to succeed Balagangadharanatha Swami and acceded to the gaddi in January of 2013. Swamiji is also an IIT graduate.
According to the Shivapurana, the Adi Rudra handed over this kshetra to Siddha Yogi who established the Siddha Simhasana and the Math.
