Vrindavan 2016.05.04 (VT): The internal disputes between the organizing committee and the sewayats (Lord’s servants) have again resulted in serving of pakka bhog (fried food) to Thakur Bankey Bihari Ji for lunch. Sewayats who were cooking “Kachha Bhog” (boiled food) from the past 10 days have also said no to preparing it for Thakur Ji’s raj bhog (lunch).
The administrating manager of the temple Umesh Saraswat said that the committee has been unable to organize kachha bhog for Thakur Ji for the past ten days. The sewayats who were preparing the kachha bhog have refused to continue their service. Due to this Thakur Ji is again being served pakka bhoga only at noontime.
The organizing committee put out a call for sewayats willing to cook kachha bhoga for Thakur Ji on Tuesday, requesting interested sewayats to give their names within two days. The organizing committee has also mentioned in the notice that it will decide on alternatives also if no sewayat comes to cook and serve kachha bhoga for Thakur Ji. As per the information, no sewayat has so far come forward for this service.
Lacs being spent every month on Thakur Ji’s food
The daily food of Thakur Ji includes various dishes which cost around 4.50 lacs per month for Raj Bhog and Shayan Bhog. This expense is borne by the organizing committee and Haveli of Thakur Ji. Apart from that many sewayats also contribute as per their capacity, to serve the food to Thakur Ji.
