Vrindavan 2016.07.13 (VT): The Nimbark School has organised an exhibition to promote the “Namami Gange” initiative of the Central Government. The school is trying to show the progress of the project as well as to sensitize people of the community about how we can keep our rivers clean.
Vrindavan Municipal Corporation Mukesh Gautam visited the school to look the exhibition. He said that the “Namami Gange” project will not only purify our vital rivers, but also curb the water problem of many states. He said that the project is meant to clean not only the Ganga, but the Yamuna River as well. It also has the purpose of developing the cities that are built on these important rivers. This will open up more employment opportunities for those staying in and around those cities.
Devendra Sharma, Secretary at Bal Vikas Manch, said that the Ganga and Yamuna are the two most important rivers in India. King Bhagirath brought holy river Ganga from heaven to earth by his penance, whereas Yamuna is Lord Krishna’s wife. Both rivers are vital for the continuity of Indian culture and its sanctity. He further said that it is our responsibility to keep these holy rivers clean and free from pollution as our existence depends on it.
Principal of Nimbark School, Mr. Braj Kishor Tripathi, said that the exhibition will last till July 16. He said that the school is trying its best to aware general public about how important rivers are and what we can do to keep them clean. The school is also giving free booklet to the visitors, to provide information about the “Namami Gange” project and to support the cause.
