Vrindavan 2016.07.13 (VT): All outside vehicles have been banned from entering Vrindavan between July 16 and 20, by the order of the SSP and DM. Extra police force has also been deployed on all the main roads of the city to avoid congestion during Guru Purnima festival. CCTV cameras have also been installed to keep a watch on all the main roads.
In keeping with the order, city police have made extensive arrangements to avoid traffic jams during this period, when crores of devotees from around the world are expected to arrive in the city.
Vehicles coming to Vrindavan from the Yamuna Expressway will be diverted to Mathura via Raya. The same route will also be used to divert traffic coming to Vrindavan from the national highway, NH2.
Parking spots have been prepared for visitors to park their cars, buses, etc., at Chatikara and opposite Rukmini Vihar. Vehicles coming from Mathura can be parked at the lots near the 100 Bed Hospital and Braj Heath Care. Parking places have also been readied near Pani Ghat and Pani Gaon to stop the vehicles coming via the Yamuna Expressway.
All the parking spots will have 24 hours surveillance from CCTV cameras, along with heavy Police forces. Extra forces have been kept standby to tackle any emergency situation arising during the Guru Purnima festival.
