Mathura 2016.07.28 (VT): “Adarsh Mathura,” a Central and State Government initiative to develop Mathura as a model city has got the support from the local businessmen yesterday. In a meeting held yesterday, businessmen said that they will join hands with the city administration for the city development and better living standards.
In a meeting held yesterday between Businessmen’s Association of Mathura and SDM (Revenue) Ravindra Kumar, the association’s chairman Mr. Ramesh Chaturvedi said that the local shopkeepers and small businessmen of the city want to see the city clean and beautiful. He said that from now onwards, no shopkeeper will encroach the areas above the drains to display their products. Simultaneously, the SDM also gave approval to fit electricity boxes above each shop for bunch cable connections.
SDM said that under the “Adarsh Mathura” project, the road will be transformed from City Hospital to Deeg Gate via the Holi Gate area. Drainage system will also be improved to fight congestion and choking.
Electricity pillars will also be removed from the roadsides and electricity provided through bunched cables passing between electricity boxes. Road dividers will also be revamped by the Mathura Vrindavan Development Association. SDM also said that they are looking for a place suitable for a parking lot to curb parking problems.
