Thakur Bankey Bihari celebrated Rakshabandhan

Vrindavan 2016.08.19 (VT): Thakur Bankey Bihari Ji celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan with his devotees yesterday. Rakhi, letters and other items received from devotees round the globe in the last 15 days were given to Thakur Ji yesterday on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Devotees also mobbed the temple till late night as Thakur Ji kept the darshan open for couple if more hours.

Devotees also presented Rakhi to Thaukur Ji yestreday to mark the festival of Rakshabandhan. Goswami’s also offered Rakhi to the Lord and then ted it to one another to celebrate the festival. The Rakhi, letters, candie, sweets and other gift received from devotees were distributed among devotees after being offered to the Lord.

Assistant Manager of the temple Umesh Saraswat said that many devotees consider Bankey Bihari Ji as their brother and send Rakhi to him every year. All the Rakhi, letter and gifts were offered to the Lord early in the morning after Arti.

“Rashtra Raksha Sutra Yatra”, a campaign by Vatsalya Gram to tie Rakhi to all the security personnel around the counrty, reached Atari and Wagha Borders yesterday to celebrate Rakshabandhan. Girls of the team tied Rakhhi to the BSF security guards there and celebrated the festival by distributing sweets.

The Yatra has halted at India Gate in Deli initially to pay a tribute to the martyrs their. Sadhvi Ritambara Devi flag off the team of 25 female students and couple of teachers on Wednesday.
