Govardhan 2016.08.22 (VT): Disputes in the organizing committee at Jatipura temple doesn’t seem to end soon. A fresh issue has now been raised when the committee members have formed two groups on the dispute that how the temple income will be shared.
The temple committee is responsible for five temples at Jatipura including the Giriraj Mukharvind temple, which is being led by the Panchayat head, acting as temple receiver, as the committee sewayats are involved in disputes among themselves.
According to one faction, there are some sewayats who want to divide the income of other temples secretly, while most eyes are on the most prominent Giriraj Mukharvind temple.
Apart from Giriraj Mukharvind temple, the Dandauti Shila, Indra Puja, Luk Luk Dauji and Mahaprabhu Baithak also come under the authority of same organising committee. The committee gets paid on the basis of a contract made with the temple. These payments are for bhog sewa and other services.
The income from Giriraj Mukharvind temple comes close to 20 lakhs monthly, whereas income from other four temples is close to 50 lakhs annually. Sewayat Pankaj Kaushik said that there are some sewayats who want to ignore the temple receiver authority and grab the contract income. Many sewayats are also trying to get individual contracts from these four temples, bypassing the organising committee.
Temple receiver T. N. Chaube said that the contract terms will be reviewed soon. He said that if any sewayat will found involved in making individual contracts with any temple, he will be dragged to the court.
