Gokul 2016.08.27 (VT): Devotees from around the world thronged to Gokul on the occasion of Nandotsav and Dadhi-Kana. They did kirtan and danced for hours to celebrate the festival here.
Devotees took darshan of Lord’s swing at Nand Bhavan in Gokul, from 7am till 9pm. Tableau were also prepared during Janmotsav. After that the deities of Lord Krishna and Lord Balram were brought to start the celebration of Nandotsav. Devotees started singing songs like “Nand ke anand bhayo, Jaya Kanhaiya Lal ki” and others. Many danced also for hours during the celebration.
Thakur Ji was offered makhan-mishri, laddoo, jalebi, peda, curd, dry fruits, etc., as bhog. After that the organising committee of Nand Bhavan started the shobha yatra which reached Nand Chowk area via Raja Thakur temple, Gokulnath temple, Bich Chowk and Moti Bazaar area. The Nandotsav shobha yatra grew in size as it got closer to the temple, as lakhs of devotees joined mid way.
The yatra was accompanied b a band group also, which was continuously playing Braj geet adding energy and joy to the celebration. Nand Bhavan sewayats were walking beside the yatra holding sweets and other food offerings on their heads.
