Sculptures from Mathura to spread cultural message

Vrindavan 2016.08.30 (VT): Mathura State Museum is all set to assist an exhibition scheduled next year with the help from Indian and British Government. A team from the National Museum in Delhi will visit the Mathura Museum next month to finalise the sculptures for exhibition.

Keeping this in consideration, Indian Government has planned to promote them via an exhibition in Mumbai next year, which will also help in spreading diversified and rich cultural message. Sculptures from Britain, Nationa Museum Delhi, National Museum Mumbai and State Museum Mathura will be participating in the exhibition being organised by the Government.

Dr. S. P. Singh (Director at Mathura State Museum) said that a team from National Museum will visit Mathura in September to finalise 12 statues for the Mumbai exhibition in 2017.

Sculptures also going to China

China is also organising an exhibition for which a team from China and National Museum Delhi will visit Mathura State Museum in the third week of September. 9 Sculptures have already been selected for the exhibition, which will be organised in various cities of China over a period of one year.

The statues selected for the Chinese exhibition are Shiv Mastak, Standing Budhha, Kuber, Ashvarohi Shardul, Buddha with moustache, Vaikunth Vishnu, Yakshi, Balram and Buddha Mastak.
