Devotees competing to get Coconut prasad
Baldeo 2016.09.08 (VT): Baldev Chatth was celebrated flamboyantly at Baldeo and other areas of Braj, where Dauji (Baldev) Mataharaj took birth amid religious programmes. The temple distributed coconuts on the occasion which was the main attraction as crowd competed to get one, which is considered as a blessing from the Lord.
Temple was highly decorated in which the deity of Dauji Maharaj was adorned with precious jewellery. Chappan bhoga, raag and samaj (traditional style of kirtan) were also organised which enhanced the celebration. Later in the day, devotees thronged the place for the Nandotsav celebration of Lord.
Samaj Gayan at Baldev Chatth
The day started with mangal arti of Dauji Maharaj at 4 am which gained pace after the samaj gayan started at 12 pm. Post that, bhang Prasad was also distributed among devotees. Holi was also oragnised at 1 pm which painted devotees orange and yellow. By that time, temple also started distributing gifts and coconut for which devotees competed to get one.
The day ended with shobha yatra and cultural programmes organised by the temple organising committee.
