Govardhan 2016.09.14 (VT): Girivar Kunj started the chappan bhoga offering to Lord Giriraj yesterday by doing maha-abhishek from the waters of seven holy rivers viz. Yamuna, Ganga, Godawari, Brahmaputra, Chinar, Krishna and Alaknanda. The abhishek also included milk, curd, honey, herbs, etc. Lord Giriraj was offered 21,000 kilograms of chappan bhoga made from pure ghee (clarified butter) from cow’s milk.
The abhishek was lead under the supervision of Pt. Kameshwar Nath Chaturvedi amid mantras and bhajan from devotees. Chief Guest of the programme Justice Alok Kumar Mukherjee (Judge at Allahabad High Court) did maha-arti of the Lord after the abhishek.

The programme ended with some cultural performances by Gopis along with manjari’s and other devotees. City Judge Shyam Lal, organiser Murari Agarwal andotehrs also did abhishek and took the blessings from the Lord.
